Why we check
Gambling is for adults, and the law that governs our casino licence makes the house responsible for proving it. That duty does not stop at the brass doors, so we ask the same question of anyone reading about the place online.
No further, then
That is an honest answer and we would rather have it than a false one. The Lantern Floor is closed to under-18s and so, from here, is the rest of this site. If you are worried about how much somebody at home is gambling, or about yourself, two independent organisations will talk to you for nothing and in confidence: gamblingtherapy.org and gamblersanonymous.org.
- We admit nobody below 18, and where local rules name an older age than that, theirs is the one we apply.
- A passport, a national identity card or a driving licence is accepted at the Lantern Floor door. A photocopy, a picture on a phone or a friend's card is not.
- The check is made on every visit, including for guests the door team knows by name and for anyone who clearly looks older.
- Guests under 18 are welcome to stay in the hotel, eat in the Marble Room, swim during family hours and come to the Sunday film. They may not step onto the casino floor, with or without a parent beside them.
- Before you play, a casino host can agree a time limit or a spending ceiling with you, or arrange a confidential break of any length.
- These pages describe a building you can walk into, and nothing else. The site runs no online games, accepts no wagers, holds no accounts and moves no money.
